After reading several articles in the newspaper about the Court Appointed
Special Advocates (CASA) in the newspaper, we saw a need in the community to
mentor foster children.
Our most rewarding experience was a trip to Great America with three siblings
who had been living apart in distant counties. We united them for the trip.
It was the first time they had been together in two years. They were very
appreciative of the reunion.
Through our work with CASA, over the last two and a half years, we have developed
a trusting relationship with children. This has enabled us to help them develop
goals for their future, and cope and improve their school and living situations.
Our bond with the children enables them to discuss their problems with us and work
together for resolution.
